Monday monk is hands down the best part of my daily routine! What i love the most about monday monk is that it's not just a gym, it's a community where everyone is made to feel welcome, plus the classes are super fun and well curated/structured. The coach venkatesh is not only knowledgeable but is genuinely supportive, and pushes you just enough while making sure you're working out safely and effectively! definitely better than your classic monotonous gym routines !
I became very consistent with my physical fitness only after joining Monday Monk :) The group workouts are super fun and keep you engaged throughout. If you're looking for a fitness studio that allows you to de stress, help you find like minded company and at the same time provide personalized insights to your workout routine ( such as form/posture correction, specific additions to a pre existing set, progressive overload, diet plan, expert interactions etc ) then Monday Monk KK Nagar is one of the best places out there to get yourself into, in my honest opinion. A few reasons that set Monday Monk apart from other studios 1. This is one of the only studios that I've been to in Chennai where the concept of cardiovascular endurance has been understood properly. You can burn just as much calories by walking/jumping and being mobile as you can by working on a machine. At Monday monk, cardio is about finding that right partner who motivates you to push your limits and that's something a treadmill cannot do. 2. At Monday Monk, the daily routine is structured in such a way that it pays adequate attention to your fitness goals, physical and mental health and skill development. The trainers show a great deal of suave combined with a professional attitude which really brings a balance to things at the studio. 3. Monday Monk also has Saturday Sessions, where they teach you other skills. We've had sessions in Zumba, Boxing, Kalari, Yoga etc delivered by trained professionals who are committed to their responsibilities. Again, I've always felt that a good fitness studio is something that impacts your lifestyle and just not your physique and Monday Monk certainly ticks those boxes. 4. Monday Monk offers personal training for specific goals that you might want to achieve within a time period. Although I haven't subscribed to their personal training program, I can vouch for its quality as I've seen it paying off for a few of my colleagues who have seen leagues of improvement. 5. Every routine at Monday Monk begins with a few seconds of devoted attention to our breathing to clear our headspace and the session draws to a close with a few minutes of tailored stretching to cool down and focused breathing/meditation to calm the body down. This is again something unique to this studio that I haven't seen much elsewhere in the city. 6. At Monday Monk, the most important strength i feel is their culture - which is to foster a tightly knit community that feeds off of each other's energy and keeps the atmosphere positive. At the studio, you have flexible timings that let's you network with people from diverse backgrounds which I believe, after one year of lockdowns and social isolation is a much needed source of respite. As a bonus, I'll also add that the studio organizes chill trips for community bonding as well. A special mention to the absolute gems of trainers I have at the studio 1. Abu - Abu is just perfect, understands your requirements really well and gives you the right kind of advice to help devise your workout routine 2. Mohan - if you want someone to push you to limits that you might have not imagined you going to, it is Mohan. Having him around, can most certainly guarantee that you progressively push yourself to higher thresholds and set bigger goals 3. Sofi- Sofi is yet another trainer who has helped me a great deal in improving my form. Again, she provides a specific insights on what I could do to complete the entire set which includes a few changes to posture and weights. On the whole, Monday Monk is an amazing place to just spend an hour doing something you love with people who you love. Would highly recommend !
