Gold's Gym Powai - Gym in Powai, Mumbai

I have been a member here for more than a decade. In recent years the overall standards of the gym have dropped. Staff is non responsive to complaints. I have brought to the notice of the front desk staff about unserviceable Air conditioners in the Men's changing room. The ACs are not working since more than 2 months. There has been no action or effort taken to initiate a repair / replacement. Staff have denied me the contact details of the manager when asked for it. It's been close to 5-6 months I have been complaining about broken foam rollers in the gym. The broken ones have been kept behind the receptionists chair but new ones have not been procured. I have started taking my own foam roller now. Soon probably they'll ask us to get our own dumbbells. Members should seriously re consider before they extend their membership.

Well, this is an honest genuine review about the gym. Please do read it in entirety before burning a hole in your pocket. So, the location is precisely why it takes all the credit for being on the top in Hiranandani. You can probably say that it's located on the hills. The forest, the lake and the posh apartments nearby make it a perfect hotspot to spend some time Pre and post workout. The gym is genuinely over crowded at any time of the day. The equipments are good, reliable and robust but there's a problem of plenty. There's so much equipment that you hardly have a space to walk. Another problem with the gym is the weights being in LBs which makes it very difficult for people to get used to these weights when they switch from KGs. The men's changing room is not clean and seems unhygienic. Probably because people make it over dirty with their shoes and sweaty clothes. It stinks at times. There are plenty of trainers but they're of no use as they keep roaming around and wouldn't help much when it comes to getting help while lifting weights and correcting postures. I felt that the majority of migrated people have been coming to the gym. One benefit is to use it through cult as they've partnered along with them as an elite gym. Rest, you make give it a try and get over with it once. I would rather suggest to use it once or twice if you're travelling to Mumbai.

Okay. So I have gone through a fair number of reviews and I feel most criticisms are unfair. Let me write a detailed review. IT IS A TOP GYM. In my personal experience, literally everything that you need from a gym is available here. Staff: Yes, a few trainers won't pay much attention to you but that's the difference. There are floor trainers for assisting you and Personal trainers for PT. Still, if you approach them, they will correct your posture or ask someone to help you. Someone mentioned trainers with bellies!! I have seen these guys train during non peak hours, they are literally beasts. Those are some heavy lifters. They tend to have a bit of a ponch but they are very well versed in their knowledge of body building and fitness. And hardly 1 or 2 of them have it. I don't know who they saw. Equipment; Top class, well maintained. They have ENOUGH equipment and with the new renovation, there is MORE THAN SUFFICIENT space in the gym. Best quality equipment that I have ever seen. They have enough cardio machines too. Crowd: Yes, it gets crowded between 6 - 9 pm. But that's cause it's a really good gym. And all gyms get crowded in those hours. At least all the good ones. Go in non peak hours if the crowd's a problem for you. I have seen some really motivated and dedicated bunch of people here as well. It keeps you coming back for more as well. Music: You sometimes won't even need your own music. It's that good. Hygiene: Cannot complain. Could be a bit better in the men's changing rooms but then it's not the staff but people who don't follow basic etiquette to be blamed. They try their best to keep it up to the mark at all times. TL:DR. Just join the gym. It is GREAT.

Great gym with top-notch equipment and a motivating atmosphere. Special thanks to Sushant Gujar Sir--his expert training and deep knowledge of bodybuilding make a huge difference. Highly recommended!

Huge respect for Sushant Gujar Sir -- a rare coach who genuinely cares, guides with expertise, and pushes you to be your best. If it weren't for him, this place would be a disaster.

It has all equipments. Trainers are friendly. It is hygienic, well maintained, nice gentry and helpful staff.

worst management ever . steam is only till 9:30 we went at 9:25 and they turned it off in 5mins we even requested them as we travelled from kurla to get here and they rejected . Please change the management or blacklist this from cult

Facility: Given that the the gym tends to get really crowded at times and since the equipments are placed close to each other, it can be difficult to move around with ease. The floor area overall proves to be small for a full sized gym. Trainers and Staff Members: I found that the trainers, for some reason, are extremely unmotivated to help the members and are only interested to talk to you when they want you to purchase their expensive personal training packages. There isn't a single female trainer. The training staff members are, at most times, either found to be standing idle or hovering around / talking to female members. Very unfriendly training staff overall. The trainers leave a very poor impression about the gym. The gym management needs to take note of this issue and guide the trainers on how to engage better with members. The front desk staff and the house keeping staff are quite helpful and well behaved. Hygiene: Although the house keeping staff seems sincere, the changing room tends to be damp and stinky for most of the year. It requires better air conditioning and frequent sprays of room freshners. Overall Impressions: Not value for money. The cost for membership is overpriced for what you get. Won't recommend this gym at the price it charges.
