My experience with this Pilates studio highlights a significant challenge for anyone considering their services, particularly if you're not a full-time, dedicated Pilates enthusiast. While I acknowledge my own oversight in not meticulously reviewing their policies before signing up, I want to emphasize why their model can be problematic for many.
From a class perspective, the instructors are genuinely great, and the studio environment itself is top-notch. They clearly deliver on the quality of the Pilates experience once you're in a session.
The core issue lies with their smallest offering: a 12-session package with an extremely tight 5-week expiry. This translates to a demanding commitment of 2-3 sessions every single week. This is made even more difficult by their rigid scheduling, often limiting you to specific days like Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday. For individuals like myself, juggling a primary sport (squash), a busy work schedule, and frequent travel, adhering to such a stringent regimen becomes nearly impossible.
These sessions are also not inexpensive. When you factor in the financial outlay combined with the intense pressure to consume all sessions within such a short, inflexible timeframe, it raises a question of value. For many, a more traditional gym membership - offering 3-month, 6-month, or even annual options - might provide greater flexibility and freedom, allowing you to work out without the constant worry of sessions expiring unused.
My final recommendation is to proceed with extreme caution. If you are not an advanced Pilates practitioner who is certain you can commit to 2-3 sessions per week on a fixed schedule, and you are comfortable with the possibility of sessions expiring, then this studio might work for you. However, for those new to Pilates, or anyone with a demanding and unpredictable lifestyle, this studio's package structure simply doesn't seem designed for success. It risks being a costly lesson in unused sessions and unmet fitness goals. Consider exploring other studios that offer more flexible packages, longer expiry periods, or a wider variety of scheduling options to better suit your lifestyle and fitness aspirations.
