Took a flow studio yoga class with Anna and it was probably the best yoga class I've taken in a long time. I felt incredibly relaxed and was able to follow along with Anna with no issues. Super impressed and will definitely take her classes again.
The sauna is great, otherwise it would be two stars.
Equipment takes forever to repair, employees never know when equipment will be repaired or replaced. Been waiting for months for the chest supported t-bar row to be replaced.
Half the people don't wipe equipment down or puts weights away, the other half treat it like a book club and just talk for 30 minutes at the most popular machines.
I know one star is low, but very single interaction I've had with the manager, Jade -- no matter how brief -- has been unpleasant. She's consistently rude, unprofessional, and carries herself like she's on a constant power trip, as if she gets some kind of ego gratification from her position. That's not the kind of energy a gym should have. A manager should make members feel welcome and supported, not like they're an inconvenience for walking through the door. This used to be a place I genuinely enjoyed, but thanks to her, it's hard to feel that way anymore.
I was on the fence about joining Vasa, however I decided to go and got a tour by Eli Hogan who is very friendly and knows the facility very well. He answered all my questions and if he didn't he got the answer from someone else quickly.
The gym is large and their are several options for classes which I like. The place stays clean from what I can tell. I love how large the pool and sauna areas are. There are multiple massage chairs so you don't have to wait in line forever.
I decided to give Vasa a try and I'm glad I did. Eli Hogan is the first face I see when I walk in and he welcomes me with a smiling face and a wave and has even remembered my name which makes me feel special.
Several times water has been shut off without warning, or bathrooms shut down without explanation. When the water was shut down, they offered water for purchase. At least you could bite the cost and give waters out for free to your members. Also frustrating, around July they rent out their parking spots to a fireworks tent. There already isn't enough parking when it's busy, and now you make money off renting parking spots to a fireworks tent. That's nuts
it really does suck that i have to write this because i used to love this gym. My local gym where all the people i know go. I have never had a singular problem for the +3 years i've been there. Staff had always been super nice and helpful but today was just the opposite.
I had come to the gym to pay for my due membership balance. I am not able to use my bank account at the moment so i brought cash to pay for it and continue my workout. The lady that was at the front looked at me like if i was someone that had slapped her on the face when i mentioned that i wanted to pay in cash. She had no idea if the front desk took cash. It made me feel like what i was trying to do was a task that bothered her. 0 costumer service skills. I also do work in the same field and i understand that it is hard sometimes, but i was in the best attitude and even smiled at her at all times, but it wasn't reciprocated in any way. Seriously thinking about canceling my membership and switching to EOS since i haven't even been feeling welcome when i walk in. Had even another encounter with the same lady yesterday when i tried to get an energy drink. I thought you just paid with your card, but she looked so annoyed with me that i didn't know you just had to scan your account barcode. Didn't even try to explain it to me when i was visibly confused, just held out her hand with the most annoyed face ever.
The rest of the staff were absolutely amazing, legitimately seemed so nice and have been everytime i talk to them. But that one girl is just not good for a front desk job.
Another serious issue is that some of the stairmasters have cracked steps, which have almost made me fall multiple times.
Truly the first time i have written a bad review, but it really bothered me so much that they let those kind of people to work at the front of such a popular gym that has welcomed me for so many years.
I can't say anything good about the manager there Jade. She has no customer service skills what so ever and could care less about customers. When we enrolled with Vasa we were given permission by the manager at the time to allow our son in (15) with his older brother (18). This was because my husband and I could not be there due to work and we wanted our boys to be able to do something active instead of sit behind a screen. The manager enrolled all of us under the condition my son could come alone with his brother. He noted the account. He's been going for 6 months with no issues until Jade just recently said he's not able to come anymore despite the fact he is 16 in 2 months. She said despite the notated account by the manager she's the manager now and will not allow it. I said we signed up under these conditions and she basically said go ahead and cancel your memberships. She additionally told my daughter who just moved to town that she could not enroll under my membership and family account for the discount because she didn't enroll at the same time as us which is false and every other location we visit additionally says this is false. We have had a good experience with Vasa up until this point but was directed to cancel our 5 memberships other than provide good customer service and stick to the agreement that we agreed to at enrollment. I'm very disappointed. There are worse things a 15 yr old could do than be at the gym trying to better himself with his older brother. Heartbreaking. We will not go to Vasa again.
Welcome to VASA Kaysville: Where Broken Bikes Go to Retire
If you're looking for a gym where the bikes are purely decorative, look no further than VASA Kaysville! The cardio bikes have been broken for months--yes, months--and shockingly, no one seems remotely interested in fixing them.
Ask an employee about it? Be prepared for the classic "you'll have to call corporate" response--because apparently, helping paying members isn't part of the job description.
And just when you think, "Maybe I'll just hop on a bike in the cycle room," surprise! Those are off-limits unless there's a class. Wouldn't want people actually using the equipment they pay for, right?
At this point, I think the bikes have a better chance of collecting dust than ever being repaired. Bravo, VASA. Truly elite customer service. I'm sending that welcome We're broken go to You're looking for
