Great commercial gym that acts as my home gym. Well stocked with all the equipment you could need for any workout programme you're on. Big open plan and spacious. I normally train 4am and it's very quiet at that time highly recommend if you live around the area. Cons is just the busy times can involve having to wait for certain equipment otherwise highly recommend this gym. Staff are friendly and the other gym goers are too.

Be careful when you take out a 12 month membership. I had the option of paying weekly or a full 12 month upfront payment. I choose the full update front payment. What I wasn't told and seems unfair is that after 12 months I have to take out a new full year membership. If I had paid weekly after 12 months my membership would rollover and I could cancel with a months notice. I paid upfront as I didn't want all the direct debits on my bank account. City fitness had the use of my money over the 12 months. I seems very unfair. Warning - don't go for the full paid up front membership. They won't negotiate with you either

This gym is horrible. Thorndon has always been my local, but now I've moved so I have to go here. Why are all the machines so old. They also don't run smoothly and are just horrible to work out on. Are all those bench presses needed?? 6 seems so excessive and you can use that space to get better machines. It also isn't the cleanest and there's hardly any fans so it gets so stuffy in there. It is shocking how poor quality this gym is.

Ok during off peak time. But don't even think about coming here after 5pm - it's an absolute zoo! Unfortunately once you leave the city (Willis and Thorndon locations), this is the ONLY location near the southern suburbs and Miramar. Change gyms if you can, you won't get your money's worth here.

I've tried to come to reformer Pilates a few times now and each time it has been full. Just wish they would make it a booking system like the other reformer for city fitness. it's a waste of time coming to find its full
