Dimapur Airport

It is a very small domestic airport with only two departure gates. The staff behavior was good but the amenities were inadequate, not a single good restaurant to get food and the toilets were not clean. The airport needs to be upgraded soon to avoid the future passanger flow anticipating the air travellers in another 15 years or so. No complaints apart from the need of upgrading facilities.

A small airport & terminal. Staffs were very polite and helpful. Connectivity with public transport is also very good. The airport is clean, modern, and well-maintained and the security protocols are thorough and quick.

I felt compelled to take the time to write this review due to the unacceptable experience I had -- and sadly, this wasn't the first time, but the fourth. I travel frequently by air, and I can confidently say that the service at Dimapur Airport is among the worst I've encountered. The staff are consistently rude, unprofessional, and behave with an air of arrogance, as if they own the place. Their attitude makes the entire travel experience unpleasant and frustrating. Because of this, I now choose to fly out of Guwahati, even though I live in Dimapur -- just to avoid dealing with the staff here. On one occasion, I was denied entry for presenting a digital ID, which has never been an issue at any other airport, including major hubs like Delhi. I had recently updated my ID and didn't have a physical copy, yet despite explaining the situation, a ground staff member dismissed it outright and refused me entry. The same digital ID was accepted without question elsewhere. We live in a technologically advanced world, and it's disappointing that the staff at Dimapur Airport remain so behind. It's high time they modernize their systems, update their understanding of digital documentation, and most importantly, treat passengers with basic courtesy and professionalism.

Dimapur Airport, the only civilian airport in Nagaland, serves as a crucial gateway to the state and the wider Northeast region. Located about 7 kilometers from Dimapur city, it offers decent connectivity to major cities like Kolkata and Guwahati. The airport plays an essential role in linking this remote yet culturally rich region with the rest of India. One of the positives is the warm and helpful airport staff who ensure a smooth check-in and boarding process. The security procedures are efficient, and the relatively low passenger volume means less crowding and shorter queues. The airport's compact size also makes navigation quick and hassle-free, especially for first-time travelers to the region. However, the airport infrastructure is modest and could benefit from modernization. The waiting lounge and basic amenities such as seating, food outlets, and restroom facilities are limited. Cleanliness is generally maintained, but the overall ambiance feels dated compared to other regional airports. Despite its limitations, Dimapur Airport provides a functional and stress-free travel experience. With planned upgrades and increasing tourism in the Northeast, it holds promise for future improvement. It serves its purpose well and is appreciated for its role in connecting a beautiful and often overlooked part of India.
