As an architecture student, I had the opportunity to study Green Valley Paradise Homes, and it was an insightful experience. The design of the residences and shared facilities reflects a thoughtful approach towards senior living--balancing privacy with opportunities for community interaction. From an architectural perspective, the apartments make really good use of natural light and ventilation, while shared amenities like the dining hall, activity spaces, and landscaped gardens encourage social bonding and active aging. The project is a strong example of how design can positively impact quality of life for the elderly. Observing it from both a student and research perspective, I found it to be a valuable case study in elderly housing and IEQ-focused planning.
